Animal reiki

🕊️ The Let Animals Lead®️ Method

Animal Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing practice that supports your animal’s natural ability to rebalance and heal — emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Using the Let Animals Lead®️ method, developed by Kathleen Prasad, your animal is always in control of the session. Rather than “doing” Reiki to them, I offer a calm, compassionate presence and allow your animal to choose how, when, and if they wish to receive.

This approach is rooted in mindfulness, meditation, and deep respect for each animal’s autonomy. It honours choice, consent, and free will - creating a safe space where true relaxation and healing can unfold naturally.

As a Level 2 Animal Reiki practitioner and UK Registered Veterinary Nurse, my work blends spiritual awareness with practical understanding of animal wellbeing. Reiki is always offered as complementary support, never as a replacement for veterinary care.

🌿 How Animal Reiki Can Support Your Animal

Animal Reiki can be deeply beneficial in many situations, including:

💗 Emotional & Behavioural Support

    •    Anxiety, fear, or emotional stress
   •    Rescue animals adjusting to new homes
   •    Changes in routine, family dynamics, or environment
   •    Trauma, shock, or past experiences
   •    Supporting animals through grief or loss

Reiki helps calm the nervous system, encouraging your animal to feel safer, more settled, and emotionally balanced.

🐾 Physical Comfort & Healing

    •    Supporting recovery after illness, injury, or surgery
   •    Easing discomfort associated with chronic conditions
   •    Supporting mobility and general wellbeing in senior pets
   •    Offering gentle support for pain management

While Reiki does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, many animals show improved comfort, relaxation, and overall quality of life when it is used alongside veterinary treatment.

🌈 End-of-Life & Palliative Care

    •    Providing peace, comfort, and reassurance during final stages
   •    Supporting emotional wellbeing for both animal and family
   •    Helping animals feel safe, supported, and unafraid

Reiki can be especially comforting during end-of-life care, offering a calm, loving presence during a deeply emotional time.

🕊️ Supporting Animals in Transition

    •    Rehoming or rescue situations
   •    House moves or changes in family structure
   •    Introducing new pets
   •    Times of uncertainty or upheaval

Reiki helps animals process change more gently, allowing them to adapt with greater ease and trust.

🌸 Distance & In-Person Sessions

Reiki can be offered in person or remotely. Distance sessions are just as effective and allow your animal to remain in their own familiar, safe environment.

Animals do not need to be touched. They may choose to rest, move away, observe from a distance, or come closer — all responses are respected. Each session is entirely unique and led by the animal.

🌿 What You May Notice After a Session

Every animal responds differently, but common signs include:
   •    Deeper relaxation or longer, more settled sleep
   •    Gentle emotional release (sighing, yawning, softening)
   •    Increased calm or confidence
   •    Improved coping with stress or discomfort
   •    Subtle shifts that continue to unfold over several days

Sometimes the changes are immediate; at other times they emerge gradually. Reiki works in the background, supporting balance in a quiet but profound way.

✨ What Makes the Let Animals Lead®️ Approach Special

    •    Choice & Consent – the animal always leads
   •    Empowerment – healing happens on their terms
   •    Mindfulness – sessions are grounded in stillness and presence
   •    Compassion & Respect – animals are honoured as sentient beings
   •    Connection Beyond Words – healing through trust, not force

💜 Complementary, Not a Replacement

As a UK Registered Veterinary Nurse, I deeply respect the boundaries between holistic and medical care. Animal Reiki is designed to work alongside veterinary treatment, behaviour support, and physical therapies — enhancing wellbeing without ever replacing professional medical advice.
